Kim M. Elsesser, Ph.D., is a Research Scholar at the Center for the Study of Women at UCLA. Her research focuses on gender issues in the workplace with particular emphasis on female leaders, sexual harassment, workplace romance, social support, cross-sex friendships, and gender discrimination. She has also taught courses on gender in the workplace at UCLA. In addition to her Ph.D., she holds two graduate degrees from MIT, in operations research and management. Dr. Elsesser also previously co-managed an equity trading group at Morgan Stanley.

Despite her three graduate degrees, Elsesser is adept at discussing gender issues in a manner accessible to a lay audience. She has published in the New York Times and The Guardian and has discussed gender issues on television on Fox News America Live, and radio on NPR's Talk of the Nation, BBC World News, KNX - Los Angeles, and KIRO - Seattle. She was one of CNN's Most Intriguing People of the Day, and has been cited in the Sunday Times (London), Bloomberg Magazine, Salon.com, and Elle magazine, among others.
